Why do they say that?

However, they will help you by all their best. You may wonder why they say that.

Japanese people usually don’t like to be overvalued by other people.
In other words, Japanese people don’t like to disappoint people if they can’t do what the people expect.
So, they usually depreciate themselves in front of you. And they like to do more than you expect.
