English is hard for Japanese to read?!

It takes time for some Japanese to read tidbits in an English newspaper because...

They say English alphabets seem to be all 'Hiragana(ひらがな)' so that they can't speed up their reading.  They need 'Kanji（漢字＝かんじ）for it.  

It is hilarious!!  

But it is serious for some Japanese people.
